In April 2000 Cunninghame Housing Association entered into a partnership agreement with North Ayrshire Council (NAC) to provide and manage Victoria House Homeless Persons’ Facility. All of the referrals to this quality temporary accommodation come direct from NAC Housing Services.
A warm welcome awaits individuals and families arriving at the project and they are welcomed by the staff on duty and over a cuppa the new arrivals are encouraged to disclose any immediate housing support needs that require being resolved.
Normally within a few days a follow on interview is arranged with a Housing Support Worker to discuss and agree a full Housing Support Plan that responds positively to resolving their homelessness.
The project has twenty seven en suite rooms and caters for a diverse client group ranging from children, families, young singles and the elderly. Residents within the project have their own en suite room but share the communal facilities, which include kitchen areas, laundry and communal lounge.
The unit is staffed 24 hours, 365 days a year and the ethos of Victoria House is to provide short term housing related support to residents whilst promoting independent living.
All referrals to Victoria House come from NAC Housing Service. CHA in partnership with NAC provides temporary accommodation at Victoria House Homeless Persons’ Unit.
The staff team at Victoria House will be able to help you with Housing Information and Advice on a number of housing issues.
